Job Description

  • The candidate must slaughter livestock and remove viscera and other inedible parts from carcasses.
  • The candidate must slaughter cattle, calves, and sheep as prescribed by religious laws.
  • The candidate must cut beef, lamb, pork, or veal carcasses or sides into primal cuts for further processing or packaging.
  • The candidate must cut meat and poultry into specific cuts for institutional, commercial, or wholesale use.
  • The candidate must remove bones from meat.
  • The candidate must have food safety and handling skills.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate must be fluent in English.
  • There are no standard education requirements, such as a bachelor's degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
  • The candidate should be required to perform repetitive tasks frequently.
  • The candidate must perform physically demanding tasks as part of their daily work.
  • The candidate must be able to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.
  • The candidate should have an eye for detail.
  • The candidate must have excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • The candidate must be willing to work in a standing position for extended periods.

Work Setting

  • The candidate should work in a meat processing and packing plant/establishment that protects meat and meat products during processing, storage, and distribution from mechanical, chemical, and biological hazards.
