Horticulture labourer

Van Luyk Greenhouses and Garden Centre in London, ON is seeking a self-motivated Horticulture labourer. Ideally suited for a motivated individual ready to join the team immediately. Terms of employment: Seasonal employment or Full time. Shift timings include: Overtime required, Morning, Day, Evening, Weekend.

Job Description

• The candidate must perform greenhouse cleaning.
• The candidate must mix fertilizers.
• The candidate must perform weeding.
• The candidate must mix and prepare soils.
• The candidate must plant bulbs and seeds.
• The candidate must pot and re-pot plants.
• The candidate must transplant seedlings or rooted cuttings.
• The candidate must apply fertilizers.
• The candidate must water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens.
• The candidate must clean work areas.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• There are no standard education requirements, such as a bachelor's degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
• The ideal candidate will have at least 1 to 2 years of experience in a related industry.
• The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
• The candidate should be client-focused.
• The candidate should have efficient interpersonal skills.
• The candidate must be reliable.
• The candidate must be a good team player.

Work Site Environment

• The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.
• The candidate will be required to work in confined spaces.
• The candidate must work in wet or damp conditions.
• The candidate must work in an environment with a high concentration of odours.
• The candidate must work in hot conditions.
• The work environment is smoke-free.
