Home support worker

Avi Bitterman in North York, ON is inviting applications for the position of Home support worker. The successful candidate must be available to start work as soon as possible. We are offering a Permanent employment or Full time opportunity. The schedule involves Morning, Day, Evening shifts.

Job Description

• The candidate must administer bedside and personal care to clients.
• The candidate must assist clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene.
• The candidate must feed or assist in feeding.
• The candidate must perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties.
• The candidate must provide companionship.
• The candidate must provide personal care.
• The candidate must prepare and serve nutritious meals.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation or equivalent experience.
• A candidate with experience is an asset.
• The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 9 kg (20 lbs).
• The candidate must be punctual.
• The candidate should be client-focused.
• The candidate must have good judgement skills.
• The candidate must be reliable.
• The candidate must have patience.

Work Setting

• Optional live-in accommodation (room and board) is available at no charge. It is not a condition of employment.
• The candidate must be able to work in the employer’s or client’s home, be capable of working at varied site locations, and understand that performance progression is reviewed annually.
