KOTO Sushi Lounge in Calgary, AB is inviting applications for the position of Head chef. We are looking for a candidate with strong interpersonal skills to start as soon as possible. This is a Permanent employment or Full time position. The schedule involves Day, Weekend, Shift shifts.

Job Description

• The candidate must estimate the amount and costs of supplies and food items.
• The candidate must estimate labour costs.
• The candidate must maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory.
• The candidate must demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to cooking staff.
• The candidate must create new recipes.
• The candidate must instruct cooks in the preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food.
• The candidate must prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for events such as banquets.
• The candidate must supervise cooks and other kitchen staff.
• The candidate must prepare and cook meals or specialty foods.
• The candidate must arrange for equipment purchases and repairs.
• The candidate must plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards.
• The candidate must recruit and hire staff.
• The candidate must train staff in the preparation, cooking, and handling of food.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• Equivalent experience is acceptable.
