THE VIRSA MAHAL in Edmonton, AB is seeking a self-motivated Head chef. Ideally suited for a motivated individual ready to join the team immediately. This role offers Permanent employment or Full time employment. Shift timings include: Morning, Evening, Weekend, Flexible hours.

Job Description

• The candidate must maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory.
• The candidate must create new recipes.
• The candidate must instruct cooks in the preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food.
• The candidate must supervise cooks and other kitchen staff.
• The candidate must prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions.
• The candidate must prepare and cook meals or specialty foods.
• The candidate must plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards.
• The candidate must recruit and hire staff.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• The candidate must demonstrate leadership.
• The candidate must be dependable.
• The candidate must be well-organized.
• The candidate must be a good team player.
• The candidate should be able to work effectively in a fast-paced and busy environment.
• The candidate should be willing to work under pressure.
