Harvesting labourer

Pomas Farms Inc. is situated in 1057 Highway 77Staples, ON and is hiring a Harvesting labourer to join the team. Ideally suited for a motivated individual ready to join the team immediately. We are offering a Permanent employment or Full time opportunity. Shift timings include: Overtime required, Early morning, Morning, Day, Evening, Night, Weekend. The LMIA has granted approval for this role.

Job Description

• The candidate must apply fertilizers.
• The candidate must clean crops effectively.
• The candidate must cultivate and manage vertical farming systems.
• The candidate must grade vegetables and fruits into different grades according to size, shape, colour, and volume to fetch a high price in the market.
• The candidate must perform greenhouse cleaning.
• The candidate must guide growing shoots into optimal development positions.
• The candidate will be responsible for harvesting vegetables by hand.
• The candidate must pack fruits and vegetables.
• The candidate must plant, cultivate, and irrigate crops.
• The candidate must manually remove all suckers and water sprouts.
• The candidate must sort fruits and vegetables.
• The candidate must clean work areas.
• The candidate must harvest crops.
• The candidate must operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• There are no standard education requirements, such as a bachelor's degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
• No experience required. The employer will provide training to the selected candidate.

Work Site Environment

• The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.
• The candidate must be able to work at heights.
• The candidate must work in hot conditions.
• The candidate must work in cold or refrigerated conditions.
• The work environment is smoke-free.
