Hairstylist

HANA HAIR & BEAUTY in Victoria, BC is seeking a self-motivated Hairstylist. The successful candidate must be available to start work as soon as possible. This is a Permanent employment or Full time position. The schedule involves Morning, Day, Weekend, Shift, Flexible hours, , 10:00 to 18:00 shifts.

Job Description

• The candidate must advise clients on beauty care treatments.
• The candidate must analyze hair and scalp conditions to determine appropriate treatments.
• The candidate must book appointments.
• The candidate must cut and trim hair according to client instructions or preferences.
• The candidate must provide custom hair and scalp treatment.
• The candidate must shampoo customers’ hair.
• The candidate must provide other hair treatments, such as waving, straightening, and tinting, and also provide scalp conditioning massages.
• The candidate must supervise other hair stylists and staff.
• The candidate must apply bleach, tints, dyes, or rinses to colour, frost, or streak hair.
• The candidate must cut, trim, taper, curl, wave, perm, and style hair.
• The candidate must suggest hairstyles compatible with clients’ physical features and preferences.
• The candidate must perform receptionist duties.
• The candidate must maintain and order supplies.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must hold a certificate or diploma in a related trade or equivalent experience.
• The ideal candidate must have more than 5 years of experience in a related industry.
• The candidate should be client-focused.
• The candidate must be flexible.
• The candidate must be a good team player.

Work Setting

• The candidate should work in an urban area with a high population density.
• The candidate must work in a barbershop or hairstyling salon/studio, performing hair care services in a well-organized environment and maintaining tools and equipment properly to ensure efficient and high-quality service.
• The candidate must work in trade occupations, performing duties that require advanced training and skills, and maintain high standards of quality and safety without the need for a bachelor’s degree.
