Grow & Gather ( Maple Ridge, BC) is currently looking for a skilled Grower, plants - nursery. The successful candidate must be available to start work as soon as possible. We are offering a Term or contractFull time opportunity. Required shifts: Early morning, Morning, Day, Weekend, Flexible hours, To be determined, Overtime available.

Job Description

• The candidate must consider water saturation, light, and temperature when planning for germination.
• The candidate must perform greenhouse cleaning.
• The candidate must harvest seedlings.
• The candidate must mix fertilizers.
• The candidate must organize greenhouse and nursery operations.
• The candidate must tie and secure plants.
• The candidate must perform weeding.
• The candidate must control reported insect, disease and weed problems.
• The candidate must establish and maintain required environmental conditions.
• The candidate must plant seedlings.
• The candidate must plant, cultivate, and irrigate crops.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must hold a certificate or diploma in a related trade.
• Relevant experience considered in lieu of education.
• The candidate should have efficient interpersonal skills.
• The candidate must be flexible.
• The candidate must be well-organized.
• The candidate must be a good team player.
• The candidate must be a quick learner.
• The candidate should have an eye for detail.
• The candidate must be willing to work long hours in various positions, including those that require sitting, standing, and walking, as well as those that involve physical activity.
• The candidate must perform physically demanding tasks as part of their daily work.

Work Site Environment

• The candidate must work in cold or refrigerated conditions.
• The candidate must work in hot conditions.
• The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.
