Greenhouse worker

Aljane Farms ( Pitt Meadows, BC) is currently looking for a skilled Greenhouse worker. We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join and begin duties immediately. This is a Seasonal employment or Full time position. Flexible availability required for: Early morning, Day, Weekend, On call.

Job Description

• The candidate must clean crops effectively.
• The candidate must deleaf agricultural crops to accelerate ripening.
• The candidate must divide fresh harvested produce into marketable and non-marketable lots.
• The candidate must perform greenhouse cleaning.
• The candidate will be responsible for harvesting vegetables by hand.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• There are no standard education requirements, such as a bachelor's degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
• The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
• The candidate must be reliable.
• The candidate must be a good team player.

Work Site Environment

• The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.
• The candidate must be able to work at heights.
• The candidate must work in wet or damp conditions.
• The candidate must work in hot conditions.
• The candidate must work in cold or refrigerated conditions.
• The work environment is smoke-free.

Work Setting

• The candidate should work in a rural area; most people live or work on farms or ranches. Hamlets, villages, towns, and other small settlements are in or surrounded by rural areas.
