General farm worker - harvesting

futurelife is situated in Surrey, BC and is hiring a General farm worker - harvesting to join the team. We are looking for a candidate with strong interpersonal skills to start as soon as possible. Position status: Permanent employment or Full time. Flexible availability required for: Day, Overtime available.

Job Description

• The candidate must apply fertilizers.
• The candidate must clear and collect brush and debris from fields, pens, and other work areas.
• The candidate must cut agricultural crops.
• The candidate must divide fresh harvested produce into marketable and non-marketable lots.
• The candidate must regulate water saturation, light and temperature as instructed to support crop growth and development.
• The candidate must grade vegetables and fruits into different grades according to size, shape, colour, and volume to fetch a high price in the market.
• The candidate will be responsible for harvesting vegetables by hand.
• The candidate must mix fertilizers.
• The candidate must pack fruits and vegetables.
• The candidate must sort fruits and vegetables.
• The candidate must clean work areas.
• The candidate must fertilize and spray crops.
• The candidate must load, unload, and transfer crates, supplies, farm produce, livestock, and poultry.
• The candidate must detect disease and health problems in crops, livestock, and poultry.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
• The candidate must be well-organized.
• The candidate must be reliable.
• The candidate must uphold values and ethics.

Work Site Environment

• The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.
• The candidate must work in all weather conditions.
