Gas fitter apprentice

Now hiring: Gas fitter apprentice at John Mulder Heating & Air Conditioning Ltd. in Chilliwack, BC. The successful candidate must be available to start work as soon as possible. We are offering a Permanent employment or Full time opportunity. Work schedule: Day, Overtime available.

Job Description

• The candidate must install gas heating units and their components.
• The candidate must measure and mark reference points for installation of gas lines and equipment.
• The candidate must install and maintain meters, regulators, and gas lines between gas units and gas meters.
• The candidate must test and adjust control mechanisms and check pipes and piping connections for gas leaks using gas detecting devices.
• The candidate must test and replace defective equipment or components.

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• There are no standard education requirements, such as a bachelor's degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
• The candidate must be accurate.
• The candidate must be dependable.
• The candidate must have good judgement skills.
• The candidate must be a good team player.
• The candidate should be required to handle heavy loads as part of routine work.
• The candidate should have an eye for detail.
• The candidate must be willing to work long hours in bending, crouching, and kneeling positions.

Work Setting

• The candidate should work in various locations when employees are scattered across different worksites.
• The candidate must work in a commercial setting that fosters a workforce of highly competent, respectful, mature, and accountable employees working toward a common goal.
• The candidate should work in the industrial area with facilities such as factories, plants, processing operations, and similar operations.
