Framer helper - construction

Vancouver Custom Homes Ltd. in Surrey, BC is seeking a self-motivated Framer helper - construction. The successful candidate must be available to start work as soon as possible. We are offering a Permanent employment or Full time opportunity. Work schedule: Overtime required, Early morning, Morning, Day, Evening, Weekend, Shift, Overtime available.

Job Description

• The candidate must load, unload, and transport construction materials.
• The candidate must erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades.
• The candidate must assist in framing houses, erecting walls, and building roofs.
• The candidate must level earth to meet fine grade specifications.
• The candidate must clean and pile salvaged materials.
• The candidate must perform routine maintenance work.
• The candidate must remove rubble and other debris at construction sites.
• The candidate must utilize hand and power tools.
• The candidate must cut materials using power tools or by hand.
• The candidate must measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
• The candidate must be dependable.
• The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.
• The candidate must be reliable.
• The candidate must be a good team player.
• The candidate must be hardworking.

Work Site Environment

• The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.
• The candidate must be able to work at heights.
• The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.
• The candidate must be able to work in dusty conditions.

Work Setting

• The candidate should work in various locations when employees are scattered across different worksites.
• The candidate must work on a construction site.
