Job Description
- The candidate must read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements.
- The candidate must prepare layouts in conformance with building codes, using measuring tools.
- The candidate must measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
- The candidate must build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
- The candidate must fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware.
- The candidate must schedule and coordinate work on sites.
- The candidate must supervise other workers.
- The candidate must maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments.
Job Requirements
- The candidate must be fluent in English.
- The candidate must hold a certificate or diploma in a related trade.
- Equivalent professional experience accepted.
Work Setting
- The candidate should work in construction trades and crafts, including bricklaying, stonemasonry, carpentry, joinery, demolition, electrical work, painting and decorating, plumbing, scaffolding, steeple jacking, and wall and floor work.
- The candidate should work in various locations when employees are scattered across different worksites.
- The candidate must work in renovation to repair, update, or improve residential or commercial properties, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance with project specifications.
- The candidate must work in a commercial setting that fosters a workforce of highly competent, respectful, mature, and accountable employees working toward a common goal.
- The candidate should work in the industrial area with facilities such as factories, plants, processing operations, and similar operations.
- The candidate must work in residential settings, performing tasks on one-, two-, and three-family dwellings.
