Forest nursery labourer

Mountain View Growers Inc. is situated in Summerland, BC and is hiring a Forest nursery labourer to join the team. We are looking for a candidate with strong interpersonal skills to start as soon as possible. Terms of employment: Permanent employment or Full time. Shift timings include: Overtime required, Overtime available.

Job Description

• The candidate must clean crops effectively.
• The candidate must perform greenhouse cleaning.
• The candidate must harvest seedlings.
• The candidate must perform weeding.
• The candidate must mix and prepare soils.
• The candidate must report signs of insect or disease damage.
• The candidate must assist in grafting activities.
• The candidate must clean work areas.
• The candidate must plant and move trees.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• There are no standard education requirements, such as a bachelor's degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
• The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
• The candidate must be reliable.
• The candidate must be a good team player.
• The candidate should be able to work effectively in a fast-paced and busy environment.
• The candidate should be required to perform repetitive tasks frequently.
• The candidate must be willing to work in a standing position for extended periods.
• The candidate must be willing to work long hours in bending, crouching, and kneeling positions.
• The candidate should have an eye for detail.

Work Site Environment

• The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.
• The candidate must work in wet or damp conditions.
• The candidate must work in hot conditions.
• The candidate must work in cold or refrigerated conditions.
