Floor clerk - retail

Dawson Hardware Ltd is situated in Dawson, YT and is hiring a Floor clerk - retail to join the team. We are looking for a candidate with strong interpersonal skills to start as soon as possible. This is a Permanent employment or Full time position. Required shifts: Morning, Day, Weekend, On call, Overtime available.

Job Description

• The candidate must bag, box, or parcel purchases for customers, for shipment or delivery.
• The candidate must carry customers’ purchases to parking lots and pack orders in customers’ vehicles.
• The candidate must obtain articles for customers from shelves or stockrooms.
• The candidate must direct customers to the location of articles sought.
• The candidate must unpack products received by the store and count, weigh, or sort items.
• The candidate must maintain computerized stock inventory.
• The candidate must record incoming stock.
• The candidate must stock shelves and display areas.
• The candidate must keep stock clean and in order.
• The candidate must price items using stamps or stickers according to the price list.
• The candidate must attach protective devices to products to protect against shoplifting.
• The candidate must fill mail or electronic orders from warehouse stock.
• The candidate must perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping and mopping floors.
• The candidate must process electronic transactions using computer equipment.
• The candidate must operate the cash register accurately.
• The candidate must perform order picking.
• The candidate must provide exceptional customer service.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• Equivalent experience is acceptable.
• The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
• The candidate should be client-focused.
• The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.
• The candidate must be flexible.
• The candidate must be well-organized.
