Fishing vessel deckhand

PEI MUSSEL FARMS INC in Morell, PE is seeking a self-motivated Fishing vessel deckhand. This position requires the successful applicant to begin duties at the earliest opportunity. This role offers Seasonal employment or Full time employment. Work schedule: Early morning, Morning, Day, Weekend, Flexible hours.

Job Description

• The candidate must prepare nets, lines, and other fishing tackle.
• The candidate must operate fishing gear to catch fish and other marine life.
• The candidate must clean, sort, and pack fish in ice and stow catch in hold.
• The candidate must clean deck surfaces and fish hold.
• The candidate must steer vessels to and from fishing areas.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English or French.
• There are no standard education requirements, such as a bachelor's degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
• No experience required. The employer will provide training to the selected candidate.

Work Site Environment

• The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.
• The candidate must work in cold or refrigerated conditions.

Work Setting

• The candidate must work at mussel sites to manage cultivation, harvest, and quality control of shellfish.
