Fish-processing plant worker

KILDARE FISHERIES LTD is situated in Alberton, PE and is hiring a Fish-processing plant worker to join the team. The successful candidate must be available to start work as soon as possible. Terms of employment: Permanent employment or Full time. Flexible availability required for: Early morning, Morning, Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Shift.

Job Description

• The candidate must cut, clean, and trim fish or seafood prior to marketing or further processing.
• The candidate must unload fish and shellfish from vessels and transport by hand.
• The candidate must scrape away scales, cut fish, separate fillets, and remove scrap parts using a knife.
• The candidate must transport fish and shellfish to the designated work area.
• The candidate must check products and packaging for defects, ensure conformance to company standards, and perform corrective machine adjustments as required.
• The candidate must disjoint and remove meat from lobsters or other crustaceans preparatory to canning or further processing.
• The candidate must record production information.
• The candidate must set up and operate machines to can, bag, box, or otherwise package fish and seafood products.
• The candidate must set up and operate machines to clean, cut, cook, smoke, brine, dehydrate, or otherwise process fish or seafood products.
• The candidate must weigh fish or shellfish, record weights, and pack products in ice for storage or transport.
• The candidate must clean machines and immediate work areas.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• There are no standard education requirements, such as a bachelor's degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
• The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
• The candidate should be client-focused.
• The candidate must be flexible.

• The candidate must be a good team player.
• The candidate should be required to perform repetitive tasks frequently.
• The candidate must perform physically demanding tasks as part of their daily work.
• The candidate should have an eye for detail.

• The candidate must be willing to work long hours in bending, crouching, and kneeling positions.

• The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.
• The candidate must be able to work in dusty conditions.
• The candidate must work in cold or refrigerated conditions.
• The candidate must work in wet or damp conditions.
