Fish processing plant labourer

UNIPÊCHE MDM LTÉE ( Paspébiac, QC) is currently looking for a skilled Fish processing plant labourer. We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join and begin duties immediately. This is a Seasonal employment or Full time position. Shift timings include: Overtime required, Early morning, Morning, Day, Evening, Weekend, To be determined.

Job Description

• The candidate must unload fish and shellfish from vessels and transport by hand.
• The candidate must transport fish and shellfish to the designated work area.
• The candidate must condition fish filets for wrapping or freezing.
• The candidate must weigh fish or shellfish, record weights, and pack products in ice for storage or transport.
• The candidate must clean machines and immediate work areas.
• The candidate must measure and dump ingredients into hoppers of mixing and grinding machines.
• The candidate must sort fish according to species, weight, and destination.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English or French.
• There are no standard education requirements, such as a bachelor's degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
• The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs).
• The candidate should have efficient interpersonal skills.
• The candidate must be flexible.
• The candidate must be reliable.
• The candidate must be a good team player.

Work Site Environment

• The candidate must work in an environment with a high concentration of odours.
• The candidate must work in cold or refrigerated conditions.
• The candidate must work in wet or damp conditions.

• The candidate should be required to handle heavy loads as part of routine work.
