Fish plant worker

Labrador Shrimp Company ( Charlottetown, NL) is currently looking for a skilled Fish plant worker. Ideally suited for a motivated individual ready to join the team immediately. Terms of employment: Seasonal employment or Full time. The schedule involves Early morning, Morning, Day, Overtime available shifts.

Job Description

• The candidate must cut, clean, and trim fish or seafood prior to marketing or further processing.
• The candidate must scrape away scales, cut fish, separate fillets, and remove scrap parts using a knife.
• The candidate must condition fish filets for wrapping or freezing.
• The candidate must check products and packaging for defects, ensure conformance to company standards, and perform corrective machine adjustments as required.
• The candidate must weigh fish or shellfish, record weights, and pack products in ice for storage or transport.
• The candidate must clean machines and immediate work areas.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• There are no standard education requirements, such as a bachelor's degree, a certificate, or a diploma.

Work Site Environment

• The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.
• The candidate must work in cold or refrigerated conditions.
• The candidate must work in wet or damp conditions.
• The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.
