Fish plant worker

Ocean Choice International in Glovertown, NL is inviting applications for the position of Fish plant worker. The successful candidate must be available to start work as soon as possible. This is a Seasonal employment or Full time position. Work schedule: Overtime required, Morning, Day, Evening, Weekend, On call.

Job Description

• The candidate must cut, clean, and trim fish or seafood prior to marketing or further processing.
• The candidate must scrape away scales, cut fish, separate fillets, and remove scrap parts using a knife.
• The candidate must disjoint and remove meat from lobsters or other crustaceans preparatory to canning or further processing.
• The candidate must record production information.
• The candidate must weigh fish or shellfish, record weights, and pack products in ice for storage or transport.
• The candidate must clean machines and immediate work areas.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• There are no standard education requirements, such as a bachelor's degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
• The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 23 kg (50 lbs).

Work Site Environment

• The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.
• The candidate must work in an environment with a high concentration of odours.
• The candidate must work in cold or refrigerated conditions.
