Farm supervisor

Canwest Farms Ltd. in Richmond, BC is seeking a self-motivated Farm supervisor. The successful candidate must be available to start work as soon as possible. This role offers Permanent employment or Full time employment. Shift timings include: Early morning, Morning, Day, Evening, Weekend. The LMIA has granted approval for this role.

Job Description

• The candidate must divide fresh harvested produce into marketable and non-marketable lots.
• The candidate must co-ordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers.
• The candidate must ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are strictly followed.
• The candidate must maintain quality control and production records.
• The candidate must supervise and oversee growing and other crop-related operations.
• The candidate must maintain accurate work records and logs.
• The candidate must hire and train staff.
• The candidate must operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment.
• The candidate must perform general farm duties.
• The candidate must apply the technique of hoeing between the row.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation or equivalent experience.
• The ideal candidate will have at least 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a related industry.

Work Site Environment

• The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.
