Equipment operator - municipal public work

Township of East Garafraxa ON ( Marsville, ON) is currently looking for a skilled Equipment operator - municipal public work. We are looking for a candidate with strong interpersonal skills to start as soon as possible. Position status: Seasonal employment or Full time. Shift timings include: Overtime required, Early morning, Day, Evening, Weekend, Shift, On call.

Job Description

• The candidate must check, lubricate, refuel, and clean equipment.
• The candidate must operate various vehicles and equipment.
• The candidate must report any malfunctions to supervisors.
• The candidate must perform tree removal.
• The candidate must remove litter and garbage.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• The candidate must have 2 to less than 3 years of experience in a related field.
• The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
• The candidate should have efficient interpersonal skills.
• The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.
• The candidate must have excellent written communication skills.
• The candidate must be flexible.
• The candidate must show initiative.
• The candidate must be a good team player.
• The candidate must be resourceful.

Work Site Environment

• The candidate must work in cold or refrigerated conditions.
• The candidate must work in hot conditions.
• The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.
• The candidate must work in an environment with a high concentration of odours.
• The candidate must work in wet or damp conditions.

Work Setting

• The candidate should work in a rural area; most people live or work on farms or ranches. Hamlets, villages, towns, and other small settlements are in or surrounded by rural areas.
• The candidate should work in various locations when employees are scattered across different worksites.
• The candidate must work on roads and bridges to construct, maintain, or repair infrastructure and ensure safety standards.
