Job Description
- The candidate must diagnose diseases or abnormal conditions in individual animals, herds, and flocks through physical examinations or laboratory tests.
- The candidate must treat sick or injured animals by prescribing medication, setting bones, dressing wounds, or performing surgery.
- The candidate must vaccinate animals to prevent and treat diseases.
- The candidate must advise clients on feeding, housing, behaviour, breeding, hygiene, and general care of animals.
- The candidate must perform routine, emergency, and post-mortem examinations.
- The candidate must provide a range of veterinary services including obstetrics, dentistry, and euthanasia.
- The candidate must supervise animal health technologists and animal care workers.
Job Requirements
- The candidate must be fluent in English.
- The candidate must hold a degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, or optometry.
- The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs).
- The candidate must be accurate.
