Job Description

  • The candidate must install electrical controls and panel boxes.
  • The candidate must replace and repair electrical controls and panel boxes.
  • The candidate must splice, join, and connect wires.
  • The candidate must test and measure voltage, loads, and ground faults for integrity of circuits.
  • The candidate must troubleshoot and isolate faults.
  • The candidate must install surface mount and/or overhead cables.
  • The candidate must renovate electrical systems in residential and commercial structures.
  • The candidate must read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate must be fluent in English.
  • The candidate must hold a Registered Apprenticeship certificate.
  • The candidate must perform physically demanding tasks as part of their daily work.

Work Site Environment

  • The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.
  • The candidate must be able to work at heights.
  • The candidate must work in cold or refrigerated conditions.
  • The candidate must be able to work in dusty conditions.
  • The candidate must work in hot conditions.

Work Setting

  • The candidate should work in construction trades and crafts, including bricklaying, stonemasonry, carpentry, joinery, demolition, electrical work, painting and decorating, plumbing, scaffolding, steeple jacking, and wall and floor work.
  • The candidate should work in various locations when employees are scattered across different worksites.
  • The candidate should be involved in the maintenance, repair, and maintenance of machines, mechanical equipment, and buildings.
  • The candidate must work in a commercial setting that fosters a workforce of highly competent, respectful, mature, and accountable employees working toward a common goal.
  • The candidate must work in residential settings, performing tasks on one-, two-, and three-family dwellings.
  • The candidate must work in the installation process to set up large-scale, mixed-media constructions, often designed for a specific location or time period.
