HUMBLE NEST DAYCARE Inc. is situated in Summerside, PE and is hiring a Early childhood educator (ECE) to join the team. This position requires the successful applicant to begin duties at the earliest opportunity. This is a Permanent employment or Full time position. Required shifts: Early morning, Morning, Day, Evening.

Job Description

• The candidate must develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
• The candidate must engage in storytelling.
• The candidate must lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest.
• The candidate must assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping accurate records.
• The candidate must guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits.
• The candidate must observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors.
• The candidate must discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings.
• The candidate must attend staff meetings to discuss the progress and challenges of children.
• The candidate must plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a College/CEGEP diploma.
• The candidate must be punctual.
• The candidate must be reliable.
• The candidate must be a good team player.

• The candidate should be required to perform repetitive tasks frequently.
• The candidate should have an eye for detail.

• The candidate must be willing to work long hours in bending, crouching, and kneeling positions.
• The candidate must be able to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.

Work Setting

• The candidate should work in a child care centre, a day nursery, or a crèches, probably the most formal childcare setting.
• The candidate must work in a kindergarten to supervise children, support educational activities, and promote social and cognitive development.
