Early childhood educator (ECE) assistant

Kiddie Cloud Montessori Ltd. in Squamish, BC is seeking a self-motivated Early childhood educator (ECE) assistant. We are looking for a candidate with strong interpersonal skills to start as soon as possible. We are offering a Permanent employment or Full time opportunity.

Job Description

• The candidate must assess the children’s development in order to prepare a learning plan tailored to their needs.
• The candidate must bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers.
• The candidate must assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping accurate records.
• The candidate must engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs, and preparing crafts.
• The candidate must prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods.
• The candidate must observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors.
• The candidate must submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors.
• The candidate must attend staff meetings to discuss the progress and challenges of children.
• The candidate must establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• The candidate must be flexible.
• The candidate must be reliable.
• The candidate must be a good team player.

Work Setting

• The candidate should work in a child care centre, a day nursery, or a crèches, probably the most formal childcare setting.
