Job Description

The candidate must assess the children’s development in order to prepare a learning plan tailored to their needs.
The candidate must develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
The candidate must engage in storytelling.
The candidate must assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
The candidate must prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods.
The candidate must submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors.
The candidate must maintain knowledge of licensing regulations.
The candidate must establish guidelines for behaviour.
The candidate must supervise and co-ordinate activities of other early childhood educators and assistants.

Job Requirements

The candidate must be fluent in English.
The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.

Work Setting

The candidate should work in a child care centre, a day nursery, or a crèches, probably the most formal childcare setting.
