Lunetterie New Look ( Vaudreuil-Dorion, QC) is currently looking for a skilled Dispensing optician. We are looking for a candidate with strong interpersonal skills to start as soon as possible. Terms of employment: Permanent employment or Full time. Flexible availability required for: Morning, Evening, Weekend.

Job Description

• The candidate must analyze clients’ eyeglasses or contact lenses by measuring eye curvature, pupillary distance and bridge width using optical measuring devices.
• The candidate must obtain specifications for eyeglasses and contact lenses from prescriptions prepared by an ophthalmologist or optometrist.
• The candidate must assist clients in selecting eyeglasses.
• The candidate must advise clients on the use and care of contact lenses.
• The candidate must arrange for grinding or polishing of lenses or grind and polish lenses.
• The candidate must cut and edge lenses and fit lenses into frames.
• The candidate must adjust finished eyeglasses to fit clients.

• The candidate must be fluent in French.
• The candidate must have a College/CEGEP diploma.
• The candidate must be accurate.
• The candidate should be client-focused.
• The candidate should have efficient interpersonal skills.
• The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.
• The candidate must be interpersonally aware.
• The candidate must be a good team player.
• The candidate should be required to perform repetitive tasks frequently.
• The candidate must be able to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.
• The candidate should have an eye for detail.
• The candidate must be able to distinguish between colours.
• The candidate must be willing to work long hours in various positions, including those that require sitting, standing, and walking, as well as those that involve physical activity.
