Selk Dairy Farms (2003) Ltd. ( Magrath, AB) is currently looking for a skilled Dairy herdsperson. This position requires the successful applicant to begin duties at the earliest opportunity. Position status: Permanent employment or Full time. The schedule involves Overtime required, Early morning, Morning, Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Shift shifts.

Job Description

• The candidate must diagnose livestock health issues.
• The candidate must handle animals.
• The candidate must monitor the calving process.
• The candidate must monitor animal health.
• The candidate must perform animal grooming activities.
• The candidate must perform livestock feeding.
• The candidate must treat livestock health issues.
• The candidate must perform weeding.
• The candidate must feed and tend animals.
• The candidate must operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment.
• The candidate must carry out pasture or pen breeding programs.
• The candidate must ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are strictly followed.
• The candidate must maintain livestock performance records.
• The candidate must milk cows.
• The candidate must clean stables, barns, barnyards, and pens.
• The candidate must detect disease and health problems in crops, livestock, and poultry.
• The candidate must perform general farm duties.
• The candidate must set and monitor water lines, air flow, and temperature in barns, pens, and chicken coops.

• The candidate should work in a rural area; most people live or work on farms or ranches. Hamlets, villages, towns, and other small settlements are in or surrounded by rural areas.
