Custodian

Ksan Society ( Terrace, BC) is currently looking for a skilled Custodian. This position requires the successful applicant to begin duties at the earliest opportunity. Terms of employment: Permanent employment - Part time. Shift timings include: Day, Weekend.

Job Description

• The candidate must sweep, mop, scrub, and wax hallways, floors, and stairs.
• The candidate must empty trash cans and other waste containers.
• The candidate must wash windows, interior walls, and ceilings.
• The candidate must move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies.
• The candidate must water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens.
• The candidate must clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures.
• The candidate must clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• There are no standard education requirements, such as a bachelor's degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
• The candidate must be dependable.
• The candidate must show initiative.
• The candidate must be well-organized.
• The candidate should be required to perform repetitive tasks frequently.
• The candidate must perform physically demanding tasks as part of their daily work.
• The candidate must be willing to work long hours in bending, crouching, and kneeling positions.

Work Setting

• The candidate should be able to work in an apartment/condominium, as an office building with two or more individually owned units.
• The candidate must work in a shelter for the homeless, providing support, programs, and services to assist individuals experiencing homelessness.
