Crisis intervention worker

Comox Valley Transition Society in Courtenay, BC is inviting applications for the position of Crisis intervention worker. We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join and begin duties immediately. This is a Casual employment - Part time leading to full time position. Shift timings include: Early morning, Morning, Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Shift, On call, Flexible hours.

Job Description

• The candidate must prepare reports or case histories.
• The candidate must perform administrative and office activities.
• The candidate must perform housekeeping activities.
• The candidate must perform food preparation.
• The candidate must provide suicide and crisis intervention.
• The candidate must have food safety and handling skills.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 to 2 years.
• The candidate must be interpersonally aware.
• The candidate must uphold values and ethics.
• The candidate should be client-focused.
• The candidate must be flexible.
• The candidate must show initiative.
• The candidate must be a good team player.
• The candidate must be well-organized.

Work Setting

• The candidate must work in a social service or charity agency, delivering programs and support that address community needs and promote social welfare.
• The candidate should work in associations and non-profit organizations, a legal entity organized and operated for a collective, public or social benefit.

• The candidate must have the ability to work independently.
• The candidate should be willing to work under pressure.
• The candidate should have an eye for detail.

Transportation/travel information

• The candidate must have a valid driver’s licence.
