(Pizza Delight, Just Fries, Manchu Wok, Cafe Depot, Best Bites Catering - MUN University Food Court) is situated in St. John's, NL and is hiring a Cook to join the team. We are looking for a candidate with strong interpersonal skills to start as soon as possible. This is a Permanent employment or Full time position. The schedule involves Overtime required, Early morning, Day, Evening, Weekend, Shift, Overtime available shifts.

Job Description

• The candidate must prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and food items.
• The candidate must prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances.
• The candidate must prepare and cook special meals for patients as instructed by a dietitian or chef.
• The candidate must inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure compliance with hygiene standards.
• The candidate must train staff in the preparation, cooking, and handling of food.
• The candidate must order supplies and equipment.
• The candidate must supervise kitchen staff and helpers.
• The candidate must maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment.
• The candidate must clean kitchen and work areas.
• The candidate must organize buffets and banquets.
• The candidate must manage kitchen operations.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• Or equivalent experience.
• The candidate must be flexible.
• The candidate must be a good team player.
• The candidate must have strong time management skills.
• The candidate should have an eye for detail.
• The candidate must perform physically demanding tasks as part of their daily work.

Work Setting

• The candidate should work in restaurants that are generally fast-paced and require the utmost efficiency.
• The candidate should work in a cafeteria where the employees of a company can get lunch without leaving their place of work.
• The candidate should be willing to relocate and be ready to move to a new city/different city for a job.
• The candidate must work in a fast food outlet or concession, preparing and serving food from a minimal menu, handling take-out operations, and ensuring efficient service.
