Community worker

BeConnected Support Services LTD ( Victoria, BC) is currently looking for a skilled Community worker. We are looking for a candidate with strong interpersonal skills to start as soon as possible. This role offers Permanent employment or Full time employment. The schedule involves Day, Evening, Night shifts.

Job Description

• The candidate must assess clients’ relevant skill strengths and development needs.
• The candidate must communicate using sign language.
• The candidate must perform housekeeping activities.
• The candidate must perform food preparation.
• The candidate must resolve conflict situations.
• The candidate must implement behaviour management programs.
• The candidate must assist clients/guests with special needs.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
• The candidate must be accurate.
• The candidate should have efficient interpersonal skills.
• The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.
• The candidate must be interpersonally aware.
• The candidate must uphold values and ethics.
• The candidate should be client-focused.
• The candidate must have excellent written communication skills.
• The candidate must be flexible.
• The candidate must show initiative.
• The candidate must be a good team player.
• The candidate must be well-organized.

Work Setting

• The candidate must work in a group home to provide care, supervision, and support to residents, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.

Security and Safety

• The candidate must be bondable.
• The candidate must undergo a criminal record check.
• The candidate must be able to pass a child welfare check.
• The candidate must have a valid driver’s licence.
• The candidate must be able to pass a driving record check (abstract).
