Community worker

Kootenay Society for Community Living is situated in Castlegar, BC and is hiring a Community worker to join the team. We are looking for a candidate with strong interpersonal skills to start as soon as possible. This is a Casual employment - Part time position. Required shifts: Early morning, Morning, Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Shift, On call, Flexible hours, To be determined.

Job Description

• The candidate must appraise clients' needs or eligibility for specific services.

• The candidate must be fluent in English.

Work Setting

• The candidate must work in a group home to provide care, supervision, and support to residents, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
• The candidate must be able to work in the employer’s or client’s home, be capable of working at varied site locations, and understand that performance progression is reviewed annually.
• The candidate must work in a community agency to deliver programs, coordinate services, and support individuals and families.
• The candidate must work in a social service or charity agency, delivering programs and support that address community needs and promote social welfare.

Security and Safety

• The candidate must undergo a criminal record check.
• The candidate must have a valid driver’s licence.

• The candidate must be able to pass a tuberculosis test.

• The candidate must have a valid driver’s licence.
