Job Description
- The candidate must diagnose and locate equipment faults, and adjust, replace, or repair telecommunications equipment.
- The candidate must inspect operation of telecommunications equipment.
- The candidate must install, arrange, remove, and maintain telephone equipment, wiring, and associated hardware.
- The candidate must test installed telephone systems to locate transmission faults.
- The candidate must analyze test results and adjust, change, or repair switching systems, networks, associated equipment, and software.
- The candidate must determine the nature, cause, and location of trouble.
- The candidate must climb and work aloft on poles, ladders, or other support structures.
- The candidate must connect, disconnect, and relocate cable outlets.
- The candidate must install cable modems and software to enable Internet access.
- The candidate must maintain and repair aerial and underground transmission systems.
- The candidate must repair or replace faulty cables, power suppliers, and amplifiers.
