Now hiring: Chef at The Punjab Parantha Hut in Edmonton, AB. We are looking for a candidate with strong interpersonal skills to start as soon as possible. Position status: Permanent employment or Full time. The schedule involves Early morning, Morning, Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Shift, On call shifts.

Job Description

• The candidate must estimate the amount and costs of supplies and food items.
• The candidate must estimate labour costs.
• The candidate must maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory.
• The candidate must analyze operating costs and other data.
• The candidate must create new recipes.
• The candidate must instruct cooks in the preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food.
• The candidate must prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for events such as banquets.
• The candidate must supervise cooks and other kitchen staff.
• The candidate must prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions.
• The candidate must prepare and cook meals or specialty foods.
• The candidate must requisition food and kitchen supplies as needed.
• The candidate must arrange for equipment purchases and repairs.
• The candidate must consult with clients regarding weddings, banquets, and specialty functions.
• The candidate must plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards.
• The candidate must recruit and hire staff.
• The candidate must train staff in the preparation, cooking, and handling of food.
• The candidate must advise on menu selections.
• The candidate must organize buffets and banquets.
• The candidate must describe menu items, including daily specials, for customers.

• The candidate should work in decoration delivery, banquet arrangement, table setup, and menu design and preparation in a catering firm.
• The candidate must work in live or special events to coordinate logistics, manage activities, and ensure successful program delivery.
