Carpenter

Nu-Vue Exteriors Ltd. in Kamloops, BC is inviting applications for the position of Carpenter. This position requires the successful applicant to begin duties at the earliest opportunity. This is a Permanent employment or Full time position.

Job Description

• The candidate must read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements.
• The candidate must prepare layouts in conformance with building codes, using measuring tools.
• The candidate must measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
• The candidate must supervise other workers.
• The candidate must utilize hand and power tools.
• The candidate must install exterior prefabricated products.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• The candidate must have 2 to less than 3 years of experience in a related field.

Work Site Environment

• The candidate must be able to work at heights.
• The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.

Work Setting

• The candidate must work in residential settings, performing tasks on one-, two-, and three-family dwellings.
