Now hiring: Carpenter helper at Dixon's Marine Group 2000 Inc. in Lower Woods Harbour, NS. We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join and begin duties immediately. This is a Permanent employment or Full time position. Required shifts: Early morning, Morning, Day, Weekend.

Job Description

• The candidate must repair boats as required.
• The candidate must prepare, clean, and sand surfaces prior to painting.
• The candidate must prepare, sand and trim wooden furniture and fixture parts.
• The candidate must operate heavy equipment.
• The candidate must coordinate work activities with other departments.
• The candidate must clean and maintain equipment.
• The candidate must assist skilled tradespersons.
• The candidate must assist structural steel and platework fitters, sheet metal workers, metal machine operators, or other metal workers.
• The candidate must assist in the display of merchandise.
• The candidate must measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
• The candidate must communicate with other workers to coordinate the preparation and completion of work assignments.
• The candidate must mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.

Work Site Environment

• The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.
• The candidate must be able to work in dusty conditions.
• The candidate must work in hot conditions.
