GALAXY FLOORING AND RENOVATION in Cambridge, ON is seeking a self-motivated Cabinetmaker. This position requires the successful applicant to begin duties at the earliest opportunity. We are offering a Permanent employment or Full time opportunity. Flexible availability required for: Overtime required, Day, Evening, Weekend, Flexible hours.

Job Description

• The candidate must operate woodworking machines, such as power saws, jointers, mortisers, and shapers, to cut, shape, and form parts and components.
• The candidate must prepare specifications of custom-made cabinets that maximize storage.
• The candidate must shape surfaces or edges of wood workpieces using hand tools such as planes, chisels, or wood files.
• The candidate must trim joints and fit parts and subassemblies together to form a complete unit and reinforce joints.
• The candidate must sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain, or polish to finished products, and prepare and apply laminated plastics.
• The candidate must apply varnish, veneer, stain, or polish to finished products.
• The candidate must maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• The candidate must estimate costs and materials.
• The candidate must repair or restyle wooden furniture, fixtures, and related products.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.
• The candidate must be well-organized.
• The candidate must be a good team player.

• The candidate must work in a commercial setting that fosters a workforce of highly competent, respectful, mature, and accountable employees working toward a common goal.
