Job Description

• The candidate must make minor adjustments and repairs to furniture.
• The candidate must prepare, sand and trim wooden furniture and fixture parts.
• The candidate must assemble wooden or metal furniture and fixture parts to form subassemblies and complete articles.
• The candidate must read blueprints and drawings.
• The candidate must apply toners, glazes or finishes to achieve desired results.
• The candidate must inspect furniture and fixture subassemblies and finished products for conformance to quality standards.
• The candidate must mark defective parts or products for repair.
• The candidate must smooth gouges using wood filler and sand wooden surfaces.
• The candidate must make minor furniture repairs.
• The candidate must apply varnish, veneer, stain, or polish to finished products.
• The candidate must study plans, specifications, or drawings of articles to be made.
• The candidate must trim joints and fit parts and subassemblies together to form a complete unit and reinforce joints.
• The candidate must repair or restyle wooden furniture, fixtures, and related products.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
• The candidate must be flexible.
• The candidate must be well-organized.
• The candidate must be reliable.
• The candidate must be a good team player.
• The candidate must be accurate.

Work Site Environment

• The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.
• The candidate must be able to work in dusty conditions.
