Barber shop manager

Nat Jay Hair Cut and Afro Beauty Supply in Calgary, AB is seeking a self-motivated Barber shop manager. This position requires the successful applicant to begin duties at the earliest opportunity. Position status: Permanent employment or Full time. Required shifts: Morning, Day, Weekend, Flexible hours, To be determined.

Job Description

• The candidate must direct and control daily operations.
• The candidate must evaluate daily operations to ensure efficiency and productivity.
• The candidate must plan and organize daily operations effectively.
• The candidate must plan and control budget and inventory.
• The candidate must hire, train, and supervise staff.
• The candidate must address and resolve customers' complaints or concerns professionally.
• The candidate must compile and maintain records on operating expenses and income.
• The candidate must calculate daily/shift payments received and reconcile with total sales.
• The candidate must suggest hairstyles compatible with clients’ physical features and preferences.
• The candidate must cut, trim, taper, curl, wave, perm, and style hair.
• The candidate must oversee operational logistics of the organization.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• Equivalent experience is acceptable.
• The candidate should be client-focused.
• The candidate should have efficient interpersonal skills.
• The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.
• The candidate must be flexible.
• The candidate must have good judgement skills.
• The candidate must be well-organized.

Work Setting

• The candidate must work in a barbershop or hairstyling salon/studio, performing hair care services in a well-organized environment and maintaining tools and equipment properly to ensure efficient and high-quality service.
