Automotive body painter

Vancity Autobody Ltd ( Vancouver, BC) is currently looking for a skilled Automotive body painter. This position requires the successful applicant to begin duties at the earliest opportunity. This role offers Permanent employment or Full time employment. Shift timings include: Flexible hours.

Job Description

• The candidate must clean and maintain workspaces.
• The candidate must file, grind, and sand body surfaces to be repaired.
• The candidate must mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting.
• The candidate must hammer out dents, buckles, and defects using blocks and hammers.
• The candidate must remove damaged fenders, panels, and grills and bolt or weld replacement parts into place.
• The candidate must apply primers and repaint surfaces.
• The candidate must repair or replace interior components.
• The candidate must repair or replace damaged windows, windshields, and sunroofs.
• The candidate must mix paint and blend and match colours.
• The candidate must operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents, and seams.
• The candidate must straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• The candidate must have 3 to less than 5 years of experience in a related field.
• The candidate must be flexible.
• The candidate must have good judgement skills.
• The candidate must be reliable.

Work Site Environment

• The candidate must be able to work in dusty conditions.
• The candidate must work in an environment with a high concentration of odours.
