Auto body technician

Big Rig Collision (Grande Prairie) Ltd. is situated in Grande Prairie, AB and is hiring a Auto body technician to join the team. We are looking for a candidate with strong interpersonal skills to start as soon as possible. This is a Permanent employment or Full time position. Flexible availability required for: Overtime available.

Job Description

• The candidate must inspect repaired vehicles.
• The candidate must plan repair work to be performed.
• The candidate must demonstrate professionalism in customer service.
• The candidate must clean and maintain workspaces.
• The candidate must instruct apprentices.
• The candidate must replace front-end components, body components, doors, frames, and underbody components.
• The candidate must file, grind, and sand body surfaces to be repaired.
• The candidate must mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting.
• The candidate must hammer out dents, buckles, and defects using blocks and hammers.
• The candidate must remove damaged fenders, panels, and grills and bolt or weld replacement parts into place.
• The candidate must apply primers and repaint surfaces.
• The candidate must repair or replace interior components.
• The candidate must repair or replace damaged windows, windshields, and sunroofs.
• The candidate must mix paint and blend and match colours.
• The candidate must operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents, and seams.
• The candidate must straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must hold a Registered Apprenticeship certificate.
• Or equivalent experience.
• The candidate must be accurate.
• The candidate must be dependable.
• The candidate must be flexible.
• The candidate must show initiative.
• The candidate must have good judgement skills.
• The candidate must be reliable.
• The candidate must be a good team player.
