Assembler, optical instruments

FiberTech Optica Inc. in Kitchener, ON is inviting applications for the position of Assembler, optical instruments. The successful candidate must be available to start work as soon as possible. Terms of employment: Permanent employment or Full time. Required shifts: Day, Flexible hours.

Job Description

• The candidate must clean work areas.
• The candidate must affix seals or tags to approved products.
• The candidate must inspect manufactured items for defects and conformity to specifications.
• The candidate must complete reports on product inspections.
• The candidate must load, feed or place materials into machines.
• The candidate must return defective products for repair or recycling.
• The candidate must sand, trim, grind or clean products into final form using hand tools.
• The candidate must screw, clip, glue, bond, weld, or otherwise assemble parts and components to form final products.
• The candidate must cut, shape and fit materials to form parts and components.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• Relevant experience considered in lieu of education.
• The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
• The candidate must be flexible.
• The candidate must be well-organized.
• The candidate must be reliable.
• The candidate must be a good team player.
• The candidate must be able to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.
• The candidate should have an eye for detail.
• The candidate must have excellent hand-eye coordination.
• The candidate must be willing to work long hours in various positions, including those that require sitting, standing, and walking, as well as those that involve physical activity.
• The candidate must be willing to work long hours in bending, crouching, and kneeling positions.
• The candidate should be able to work effectively in a fast-paced and busy environment.

Work Setting

• The candidate's relocation costs should not be covered by the employer; if the company does not provide a relocation package, you may request an advance on your earnings to cover some of your moving expenses.
