Job Description
- The candidate must read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements.
- The candidate must prepare layouts in conformance with building codes, using measuring tools.
- The candidate must measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
- The candidate must position, align, and adjust parts for proper fit and assembly.
- The candidate must assemble, fit, and install pre-fabricated parts and subassemblies.
- The candidate must repair or restyle wooden furniture, fixtures, and related products.
Job Requirements
- The candidate must be fluent in English or French.
- The candidate must hold a certificate or diploma in a related trade.
- The candidate must be accurate.
- The candidate must be reliable.
- The candidate must be a good team player.
- The candidate must be punctual.
Work Setting
- The candidate must work in millwork or prefabrication shopwork to cut, assemble, and finish building components.
- The candidate must work in a millwork shop to fabricate, assemble, and finish wooden components for construction or custom projects.
- The candidate must work in a furniture manufacturing company to assemble, finish, and inspect furniture products.
- The candidate should work in a custom cabinet shop to install kitchen and bathroom cabinets and fittings to new or renovation work and shop fittings.
