Northern Health Region

The Northern Health Region (NHR) is the regional health authority responsible for delivering public healthcare across northern Manitoba. Covering over 60% of the province's landmass, the NHR serves a geographically dispersed population of approximately 75,000 people, of which nearly 70% self-identify as Indigenous. The organization operates multiple hospitals, personal care homes, and community clinics, delivering acute care, primary care, mental health services, and addiction recovery programs. They are dedicated to providing culturally safe, people-centered care and addressing the unique healthcare inequities caused by geographic isolation.
