Tobacco farm worker

Southcoast Farming Inc ( Simcoe, ON) is currently looking for a skilled Tobacco farm worker. We are looking for a candidate with strong interpersonal skills to start as soon as possible. We are offering a Seasonal employment or Full time opportunity. Required shifts: Overtime required, Early morning, Morning, Day, Evening, Weekend, On call, To be determined, Overtime available.

Job Description

• The candidate must apply the technique of hoeing between the row.
• The candidate must clear and collect brush and debris from fields, pens, and other work areas.
• The candidate must cut agricultural crops.
• The candidate must grade vegetables and fruits into different grades according to size, shape, colour, and volume to fetch a high price in the market.
• The candidate must perform greenhouse cleaning.
• The candidate must plant, cultivate, and irrigate crops.
• The candidate must sort fruits and vegetables.
• The candidate must perform weeding.
• The candidate must clean work areas.
• The candidate must harvest crops.
• The candidate must load, unload, and transfer crates, supplies, farm produce, livestock, and poultry.
• The candidate must operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment.
• The candidate must examine product for quality and market readiness.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• There are no standard education requirements, such as a bachelor's degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
• The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
• The candidate must be reliable.
• The candidate must be a good team player.
• The candidate must have the ability to work independently.
• The candidate should be able to work effectively in a fast-paced and busy environment.
• The candidate should be required to perform repetitive tasks frequently.
• The candidate should be required to handle heavy loads as part of routine work.
