Registered dental technician (RDT)

Vetech Dental Laboratories Ltd. in Richmond, BC is seeking a self-motivated Registered dental technician (RDT). We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join and begin duties immediately. This is a Permanent employment or Full time position. Required shifts: Morning.

Job Description

• The candidate must design dental devices.
• The candidate must modify dental devices including full or partial dentures, orthodontic appliances, inlays, onlays, clasps, and bands.
• The candidate must prepare plaster models and moulds.
• The candidate must train other dental technicians.
• The candidate must perform administrative functions for the dental laboratory.
• The candidate must mould wax over dentures set-up.
• The candidate must finish metal framework of dentures.
• The candidate must supervise students in training.
• The candidate must prepare wax bite-blocks and impression trays.
• The candidate must pack plastic material in moulds to form full or partial dentures.
• The candidate must polish and buff dentures.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must hold a degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, or optometry.
• The candidate should be client-focused.
• The candidate must be flexible.
• The candidate must be a good team player.
• The candidate should be able to work effectively in a fast-paced and busy environment.
• The candidate should be willing to work under pressure.
• The candidate must be able to meet tight deadlines.
• The candidate should have an eye for detail.
• The candidate should be willing to work for long hours in sitting positions.
• The candidate must have excellent hand-eye coordination.

Work Setting

• The candidate should work in a commercial dental laboratory that supports dental professionals by providing customized appliances for dental patients.
• The candidate must work in an independently owned business to manage operations, serve customers, and ensure business success.
