Installer, fire protection piping system

inControl Systems Inc. in Markham, ON is seeking a self-motivated Installer, fire protection piping system. This position requires the successful applicant to begin duties at the earliest opportunity. Terms of employment: Permanent employment or Full time.

Job Description

• The candidate must select, measure, cut, ream and thread pipes.
• The candidate must liaise with management, engineers and other trades.
• The candidate must connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment in accordance with specifications and safety standards.
• The candidate must install clamps, brackets and hangers to properly support piping systems, sprinkler systems and fire protection equipment using hand and power tools.
• The candidate must install valves, alarms and associated equipment.
• The candidate must service and repair sprinkler systems.
• The candidate must test systems for leaks using pressure equipment.
• The candidate must clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush systems.
• The candidate must cut openings in walls, floors and ceilings to accommodate piping installations using hand or power tools and machinery.
• The candidate must install supports, valves, piping and control systems.
• The candidate must measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to required shape and size.
• The candidate must remove and replace worn components and reactivate systems.
• The candidate must test systems for leaks using testing equipment.
• The candidate must read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must hold a certificate or diploma in a related trade.
• Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
