Job Description
- The candidate must assess the childrenβs development in order to prepare a learning plan tailored to their needs.
- The candidate must assist co-workers in housekeeping and cooking duties.
- The candidate must bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers.
- The candidate must develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
- The candidate must maintain daycare equipment.
- The candidate must engage in storytelling.
- The candidate must supervise staff, trainees, or volunteers.
- The candidate must synthesize the overall situation of the children and communicate the information to the parents.
- The candidate must assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
- The candidate must lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest.
- The candidate must order supplies and equipment.
- The candidate must assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping accurate records.

Job Requirements
- The candidate must be fluent in English.
- The candidate must have a College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 to 2 years.
- The candidate should be required to perform repetitive tasks frequently.
- The candidate must perform physically demanding tasks as part of their daily work.
- The candidate should have an eye for detail.
- The candidate must be willing to work long hours in various positions, including those that require sitting, standing, and walking, as well as those that involve physical activity.
- The candidate must be willing to work long hours in bending, crouching, and kneeling positions.
Work Setting
- The candidate should work in a child care centre, a day nursery, or a crèches, probably the most formal childcare setting.
